Thank you from Jason Katz

To whom it may concern,

Flashback about 6 years to a cold December night back in the multi-purpose range. I remember the night like it was yesterday. There, a shy, overweight 12 year old boy was introduced to the sport of action pistol. Despite not being able to load his magazines, he became instantly hooked. That boy was me.

Fast forwarding to the present…never in a million years would I have guessed the journey that the shooting sports would endow upon me. From traveling all over the world to shoot matches, to representing the greatest county in the world at the World Shoot, to making life-long friends and relationships, to teaching up-and-coming junior shooters, I am truly blessed to have had such unforgettable experiences.

As I go off to college and embark on a new chapter in my life, I just wanted to offer my sincere gratitude. I wanted to offer my sincere appreciation for each and every person at the WAC who made this journey possible. In fact, I never would have come close without the help of all of you. So once again, thank you very much.

2015 USPSA Nationals Slot Series

As you may have heard, the 2015 USPSA Nationals will be held in Frostproof in October. Participation in that event is based on “slots” provided from USPSA HQ to each section. To earn a slot from the Central Florida Section you must shoot at least four of the 8-9 designated “slot series” matches.

Each club in the section will host a slot series match between now and the end of May. You may attend as many as you like, the best 4 finishes will be totaled for your score. Score is your percentage. The Area 6 Pistol Championship will count as well and it will count double!! So if you achieve a 60% finish your score will be 120 for that match.

The important part is you must declare with your club president (Charles or Dan) your desire to enter the series. You must declare by the end of February for this series.

We will get the schedule out in various places asap. The full schedule will be on USA’s website, facebook, A6 website, and other club websites as well.

Polk County Practical Shooters will hold the first one at Frostproof at their February match. (February 8). The last one will be at WAC at the Doc Welt Memorial Match 31 May. We will publish the full schedule once we get it.

The slot series for the 2016 National Championship will be the last half of this year. We will have more information about this series towards the summer. We will have one match count double….probably The Monster Match but that’s TBD. For this series you must inform the Match Director of the first slot series match you attend that you are declaring.

Slots for the 2016 Single Stack Nationals will use the 2015 Factory Gun match as has been the case in recent years.
